I knew that, like the other Dorothy Dunnett Guides, this one would be good. What I didn't know was that it would be brilliant. The task of mapping the complexities of place, time, people, change and interchange was immense. Nicky Cannon's achievement is all the more remarkable because she has produced a guide to Edinburgh that is not only thorough, readily accessible and engagingly readable but also beautiful. It is a must-have for any Dunnett reader, but I think non-readers will find it equally indispensable. Over the past five decades I have made many fascinating and informative tours of the city alone and in company. In future explorations, this guide will be my first choice of companion.Product details
